Ayam Penyet Ria @ Lucky Plaza

We were at Lucky Plaza yesterday , and tucked at a little corner is a popular Ayam Penyet Eatery , or as K Says.



Ordering was fast. You sit down , the staffs hand you this little menu slip , you tick the items you want and you pay at the cashier.


So then you put this little slip at the corner of your table . (Actually unnecessay coz they have your order already ! But I duuno why everyone seems to be doing this thou??)

Our bill came up as per receipt.

The food came very fast. It was as if IMMEDIATELY. And the presentation was authentic. I love the rice plate.

My Ayam Penyet.Comes with some veggie (?) , Fried Beancurd , Tempur? and very nice & Spicy Chilli :)

K's order of Teh Botol ( Indonesian Tea) and my Lime Juice. Seriously to stomach that chilli , you NEED a drink. He say's the tea taste 'funny' , I thought it was quite ok though I can't really put a taste to it. But worth a try !


K's Fish Penyet. He says its nice but i didn't like the bones , so no comments on that.But he finished it up , if that is an indication of the fish's tastiness :)

The side are similar to the rest of the penyet sets .

Overall , I think its a place worth the wait for its food. Long queues most of the time! Fast service and best chilli! The minimal decor is not an issue coz the attraction is the food.

THe Manhatten Fish Market

Today we went to 'The Manhatten Fish Market' @ Central Mall.

It was the only restaurant we checked that doesn't have any long waiting queues.

The Menu looks like a normal restaurant menu.It didn't excite.

For SGD4.90, you could get a soup and iced drink of your choice.Soup of the day ( forgot the name) was thick. Bread/Futons? complemented the soup.

p.s The 4.90 Set of soup & drinks are known as 'Perfect Catch'

The Grill Norwegian King Salmon was thick.Nice one and quite worth the price of SGD15.90.Served with rice or chips.

Fisherman's Platter is to be shared by 2-3 pax.

Consisted of Rice + Chips+ Fish + Prawns + Calamari .Quanity is large enough for us to doggy bag food for lunch tomorrow :P

Overall , I don't see the hype in this restaurant.Just a normal restaurant with a seafood theme :)

Was at The Coffee Club @ Hotel Rendezvous, 9 Bras Basah Road, #01-04 .

From what I understand , it is usually a very crowded place to be at , filled up with all the groups of youngsters.

Surprisingly , yesterday was a lucky quiet night for us. A few reserved tables here and there.Other than that , was a super quiet night .Absolutely no rowdy crowd.

The staffs were pretty polite. I like. Especially the gals! One of them quickly came over and presented us the menu and made recommendations :P

I chose the sausages one ( sorry i don't remember the name!) and a passion fruit float?

The passion food float was the first to arrive , looking very appealing! Especially with the Vanilla Ice cream..YUmy!

The first sip was refreshingly sweet...but subsequent sips taster more bland , perhaps due to the melting of ice? I think it gets better when the ice cream melts ! tHe Most delicious Part~

Then my main came! Tantalising isn't it?The sausages are from 2 different type of meat if I am not wrong (actually I really am not sure, will update when I visit the next time). Anyway , I think the sausage in the foreground taste much much better than the thin and shrivelled one behind *_* I don't like dry sausages.

As with all mash potatoes , it kinda drys up after sometime as well. Overall i will give it 3 of of 5?

The name ends with 'mash'

The below are all not tried by Yours Truly! So i cannot comment. But I give 4/5 for its asthetics!It really looks yummy !

The good impression is marred by the long waiting hours. The soup came when I was half done with my sausages , so you can imagine how long the Main reached our table as well.

50 Bucks for 2 ..Reasonable?
